Wow I cannot believe time went by so quick in this project.

   Sophie and I began with arguing about what topic we should choose, I picked horror and she picked action and adventure. And so began our film. We had decided not to pick horror nor action and adventure. And so we came to the conclusion to do romantic comedy.

   We decided to plan out what days we would do what just to make sure we are on a time schedule. Since Sophie and I have soccer every week this was a must if we were going to do this project right. After we planned out everything the research began. We looked up online different aspects of romantic comedies. I remember seeing many different aspects that were essential for our project.

Representation was a big one when it came to romantic comedy. Most of the time romantic comedy characters are just stereotypes of either there gender, race, or something else. So we started thinking about what we can use to really emphasis the representation in the film. We had put everything on the story board, even labeling what should be where. Kinda like the following:

  A major change that we had to get done due to time limit on the film was the kitchen scene. We thought it would be good to show a mom cooking because it is a type of representation, but when out time hit 3 minutes we went back a cut a few scenes. I think it was a good decision due to how our filmed turned out.

  Another key moment in the project was when Sophie and I began to edit the song to match the scenes. We had to be careful of where there should be music and when it should slowly increase to full volume. Without the editing the film would sound like one big concert. 

 Now we are doing our finishing touches and making sure the editing is tight.

  Well we are in the middle of the process and everything is going very well.
Sophie ad I decided to put in new scenes to our project because we felt that there was a gap in our storyboard. So we started to think about what we can do about this dilemma and Sophie's brilliant mind came up with a good idea.

We decided to put in a scene in the kitchen where Valeria speaks with her mother about college. This will be seen as representation due to the fact that teen are consistently thinking about college when they enter high school.  We will be transitioning to this scene by Valeria mom calling her over to make it a smooth transition.

Before we had made this adjustment we had Valeria changing in her room then going straight outside which is not a smooth transition at all. Now we are thinking about script that is being developed and will have to be modified with this new scene.

I'll update you guys soon about our progress.

Update !!

Last update of the week and it is important. Our editing is going great so that is something to look forward to. We are a little bit ahead of schedule which is perfect because we wish to show this to someone else just for someones else opinion.



 So far we have editing the first part of the film which is Valeria in the morning getting ready for school and putting on different outfits. But like I said last time we wanted it to flow together and not look disorganized or out of place. This forced us to go back and make certain shots shorter and better cuts. Everything began to come together.



O and Sophie might have spoiled it already but we found the song in which we are finally going to use for our film. After many many different songs being heard we chose Perfect day by Hoju.



We thought it really fit into our film and the character we are trying to create. Especially Valeria being the shy girl with the crush.

Update!!!

Well like I said last we finished our filming part of the project so, there is only one more step left in this project which is editing. This probably the most essential part because a film has many scenes and the editing portion of the process puts all those scenes together.



This is just a small example of what I am trying to explain. The are layers of sound and timing for each shot and videos which must be accounted for. Since we need to introduce our lead girl and guy actress in a short amount of time. So Sophie and I are going to make sure we really introduce the Valeria and leave my personality a mystery.



We don't want to make it like a trailer so I will be introduced, but it will be left to the audience to interpret what was given.

I' back just like I promised to update you guys.

We are finally done filming and can start editing. The last part we were having trouble on was the start and end to our film opening. We didn't just wan the start to be like any other Rom Com that simply takes a medium shot of the house of the narrator. Sophie and I were trying to think outside the box.



So Sophie and I began to think and think how we want to introduce the title and at what time. We began to think and luckily something in Sophie's garage caught our eye. She had a drone that can fly up on the air and take aerial shots.

So we decided to use the drone to take shots of Valeria's house and we decided to use that as our opening shot which is used to establish the scenery.
